Two-time Grammy award-winning Quiana Parler will perform Summertime from Porgy and Bess, Total Praise, and a number of gospel favorites. Charleston-based composer and jazz saxophonist Kevin Patton will premiere Reflections (an original composition for orchestra). Works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Tuffus Zimbabwe will complete the evening.

Maestro Palmer ignites the orchestra in Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, Haupango, and Andalucia. Charleston Cuban artist, Gino Castillo will showcase his rhythmic percussion and vocals. Duda Luceno will light up the evening with Brazilian energy and passion.

This seasonal favorite returns to North Charleston as the City comes alive with the beauty of the holidays. Returning artists include Martin Chalk, Heather Rice, Suzanne Fleming-Atwood, and the Palmetto City Ballet. Described as the most spectacular Holiday Pops celebration in the Lowcountry, the orchestra will present a variety of holiday favorites including the Hanukah Overture (arranged by Adam Shugar), music from The Nutcracker, original songs by Martin Chalk and Heather Rice, and a Christmas singalong.

Our 13th season will open with featured vocalist Elena Flores performing Queen of the Night, Cohen’s Hallelujah, Never Enough, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
